Dictionary definition: ” a profound change in form from one stage to the next in the life history of an organism, as from the caterpillar to the pupa and from the pupa to the adult butterfly.”
For people, this can be any complete change in appearance, character, circumstances, etc.
In life, one will go through a metamorphosis. It has been proven that outside influences can cause a metamorphosis to occur. Some undergo this change when they come out of a relationship, some when they discover a new relationship. The change in one’s scenery can cause this as well, and the most understood influence, the aging effect, which we all will encounter.
For a long time people have visually seen and understood this event, but what about the inner metamorphosis? This area is sometimes neglected to be discussed, and this change is more important than the one that we can easily see and accept. To change on the inside is powerful, and can affect those that are around you. When we give our life over to Him, in the beginning the change is not apparent, and many times we are still working on that outside change. You know what I mean, the going to church every Sunday, dressing nice, and trying to make all the meetings.
But the inner change…. that change that is not readily seen, but is so powerful, is when we think about our actions prior to doing them. We realize that if we do something wrong, it not only reflects badly on our loved ones, but badly on His work in us and His kingdom. That inner change that has us acting in a more positive, more profound way. And even though we don’t make it to the house of the Lord that Sunday, our relationship with Him is so strong that we know that He knows..and that’s all that matter!
That inner change will draw people to you that you don’t even know, but they know. The metamorphosis on the inside will have people question your actions, even though all kinds of trials are cast against you. It is a wellspring of strength that will sustain you even when you think you are alone and no one understands or cares about you, because you know that there is One that does care.
“And I know…a change is gonna come”
